Which point we are in the time line

Until this time, we are now keeping in touch with the Gantt Chart regarding the project's deadline that the client set to us.

We have finished 90% of the flash, including the main flash, and sub flashes.

We have received lots of valuable feedbacks from the classmates today. They got some problems with navigating around the site; it took them few seconds to get what they wanted; the audio also needed to be adjusted by the users through a slide bar.

Here are few things that need to be done in the next couple of days:
  1. Add data [information] into the flash, including dance history, contact information, credit.
  2. Fix the navigation.
  3. Sound control panel.

We got some problems with HD video

Because of the want to have a really good video quality, we have decided to shoot the video at 1080i resolution. Then, we have over 15 GB for 15 mins of video and that's big!
The machine took a long time to post-process.
--> It's not feasible!

So, we decided to reduce the resolution for the next shooting to 720x576.

Good News :: we got one hand from Rich - the video tutor

Because of the project's concept, all the video pieces must be applied Chroma Key effect. The team has researched over the internet and found out that lighting is the most important element to make a successful chroma key.

However, lighting is not our strong point, so we have aked Rich for advices.
One more thing is that our campus is making the Green Room, and it will go into use soon.

Major Chance in Project's Concept

Once going to a deeper search in video-flash composition. We have found a lots interesting sites that use similar techonoly like we intend to use!

The most impressive site is at: http://www.saturn.com/saturn/vehicles/futurevehicles/outlook/index.jsp
It introduces a new future car!
The special point is that it brings to users a new experience of approaching the information in term of navigating, and interacting!
About the technology, Ajax is applied, we think! The video is cut neatly and clearly!

The others are:
http://www.diesel.com/#/cult/style/
http://thefountainmovie.warnerbros.com/

Because of the passion in video production, we decided to focus more into video technology applied to flash! Moreover, the previous idea didn't show all the miracle of video used for flash!

--> Final Deal of Kevic Team: creating a flash piece about DANCE with different styles. Aslo, guiding people how to dance! The flash will used videos as the main interface to users like the Saturn site above!
To do so, we have made a contract with the RMIT Dance Club, they will provide us the best dancers for the videos.

--> This week's activities (week4)
Tuesday:
Cuong: searching information about DANCE, history, lessons, pics, etc.
Lam: figure out which way to make the best quality for the video, how to make a good chroma key, how to embed the flash video into flash.
Trung: figure out the 3d- space for the flash, try to creating a 3d-backgoung for the Flash.

The Concept:
Many foreigners and traveler coming to Ho Chi Minh City don't know where to go, where to play, where to spend the money! So why don't we create a flash web application providing tourism information in Ho Chi Minh City, with a virtual human interface!

The guider, Ms. Viet, will inform the info. to the audience when they navigate the site.

It must be more interesting rather than normal tourism website with text and images only!
--> Creates new user experience on using the application!

The application can be installed on hotel or restaurant's public computers, so customers can check-out which places are interesting before going out to the streets.

The challenges not only exist in techniques, but also be in the content. We need to make a particular characteristics for the virtual human (Miss Viet) while maitanining the content dynamic.

Technical challenges:
- Graphic design, icluding video as well
- Action Scrips
- Database
- Sound Effects

Content challenges:
- Build a character
- Make a sleek navigating strategy
